In the heart of the city, left to crumble and ruin under the elements is Le Jardin du Calvaire. Only the gardener, the occasionally mildly curious and the stray cats bother with it. I think it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

oh, suzie, it's a dream! how wonderful to have such a beautiful quiet place to explore in the heart of the city!
ReplyDeleteSuzie, do you go there often? Beautiful, quiet, and full of stories.
ReplyDeleteI've only recently discovered it, and I'm totally hooked!
DeleteThis is truly amazing: the broken statues, the colors, the quietness... I hope I had a place like this near home.
ReplyDeleteThis is really an enchanted garden. He must provide a host of photo opportunities and stories.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend my friend!
Wow. The garden looks enchanting, but also oppressive and foreboding. The third photo from the bottom, the half-statue, is frightening. I don't think I'd be able to go there alone.
ReplyDeleteThe Fujifilm 200 has nice tones and grain structure. I'm going to order some now; I need to start buying less expensive film (so addicted to Ektar and Portra).
