alternative living
My department of Aude has long been firmly on the hippy trail. Don't take it as bible truth but I think a lot of northern Europeans looking for an alternative lifestyle in the sun bowled up here in their creaky camper vans back in the 60s, spent the next 20 years renovating crumbling stone houses whilst living off the land, smoking weed and making baby hippies. L'Aude à la Bio is an annual fair that is their mecca, a celebration and promotion of all things ecological, organic and alternative and a lovely dream.

all these photos were taken with a recently found Ricoh KR-10. It has a broken light meter so I just had to guess the exposure times. Woah those colours are zany.

good fortune
Dee and I 'met' last year, although not a real meet, just a cyberspacey meeting place somewhere up there ↑ you understand. We bonded over a mutual love of Yashicas, Serge Gainsbourg and homegrown tomatoes.
These last few days have been just wonderful. All my favourite things; lake swims, land art, picnics, city strolls, exhibitions, rummaging, gassing, relentless photo-taking and drinking cool rosé have all been shared with her in the real, tangible and infinitely more enjoyable world, a world where our 3 daughters now have also made a strong and warm friendship.
God bless the internet.
