paper birds

I have been busy making these paper birds today for a couple of our friends who gave birth to a new baby on Monday. I cut the birds from an old 60s BD and thick pale blue card. It's always difficult to know what to give to people when they are having their second, or third (or fourth!) child. They already have pretty much all they need, and cards and flowers, whilst lovely, lack imagination. I reckon these will look really pretty flying above the baby's crib.
Mind you it was quite a challenge to not make them scary, big clawed and hooked-beaked! Now that is much more my cup of tea!
